Jarosław Mikołajewski, born in 1960 in Warsaw, is a Polish poet, author of children’s literature, essayist, journalist, and translator of Italian literature. His books were published in Poland, Italy, the Netherlands, United States, Hungary, and United Kingdom; his works were also translated into following languages: Albanian, German, Spanish, Croatian, Bulgarian, Czech, Ukrainian, Greek.

Jarosław Mikołajewski has translated works by Dante, Petrarch, Michelangelo, Leopardi, Montele, Ungaretti, Luzi, Penna, Pavese and Pasolini, among others. His are also Polish translations of children’s classics – Carlo Collodi’s Pinocchio (published in Polish as Pinokio: historia pajacyka, 2011), some of  Gianni Rodari’s works, and others. In several of his volumes, especially in Którzy mnie znają (Those Who Know Me, 2003), the author aims to grasp love and death – the eternal subjects of poetry. His work Zbite szklanki: wybór wierszy (Froth: Poems, 2010), translated into English, was named among the 75 best works of 2013 by World Literature Today (WLT). He is a juror for the Zbigniew Herbert International Literary Award.
