Host and organiser of the prestigious BBC Slam Championships, Sophia Walker has represented the UK at the World Slam Championships, won the 2012 Poetry Olympics and was the 2015 London Slam Champion. Co-founder of the Spoken Word Theatre Foundation, Sophia's own three spoken word shows have won four awards thus far, including Best UK Spoken Word Show. She has been commissioned by organisations as diverse as the United Nations and Million Women Rise, and has performed everywhere from Las Vegas to the Royal Shakespeare Company. Annually nominated for Best UK Spoken Word Performer, Sophia's first book Opposite the Tourbus (2016) was shortlisted for the Reader's Choice section of The Guardian newspaper's First Book Award.
