He studied architecture and philosophy. He teaches the history of architecture at the Mimar Sinan Fine Arts University in Istanbul. He is the author of three poetry collections: <em>Takas<\/em> (Change, 2006), <em>Tek \u015eiirlik A\u015fklar <\/em>(One Poem Stands, 2012), <em>S\u0131k\u00e7a Sorulan Sorular<\/em> (Frequently Asked Questions, 2016). He has published a literary study of the poetry of Nazim Hikmet (2008). His poems have been translated into more than twenty languages.
