Mi\u0142osz Biedrzycki was born in 1967 in Koper, Slovenia. He graduated from the Academy of Mining and Metallurgy in Krak\u00f3w, and is a geophysical engineer. He is part of the \u201cBrulion Generation\u201d associated with the literary magazine Brulion; he also writes under the abbreviation MLB. He is the author of nine poetry collections, and his poetry books have been published in the USA, Slovenia, and Ukraine. His poems translated into English have appeared in Boston Review, Fence, Washington Square Review and other journals. The most important collections of recent years are: Sofostrofa i inne wiersze (Sofostrofa and Other Poems, 2007, nominated for the Gdynia Literary Prize), Porumb (2013, nominated for the Orpheus and Silesius Prizes), Wiosna ludzi (Spring of People, 2022, nominated for the Silesius Prize). He and his mother, Katarina \u0160alamun-Biedrzycka, translated a book by the Slovenian poet Uro\u0161 Zupan which won the Wis\u0142awa Szymborska Prize. He has also translated books by Slovenian poets Meta Ku\u0161ar, Katja Gore\u010dan, Anja Golob, Ale\u0161 \u0160teger and his uncle, the modern-classic Slovenian poet Toma\u017e \u0160alamun.
