K\u0119stutis Navakas (born 1964) is a poet, essayist, literary critic, and translator. He graduated from Kaunas J. Aleksonis Secondary School in 1982. During 1987\u20131988, Navakas was Chairman of the Young Writers Section of the Lithuanian Writers Union. From 1994 to 1996, he wrote weekly columns on cultural matters and recently published books for the newspapers Kauno diena<\/em> and Noriu<\/em>, and from 1998 to 1999, he presented new books on Lithuanian television. In 1996\u20132005, Navakas was the founder and co-owner of the bookshop-club Septynios vienatv\u0117s, and ran the bookshop for three years, from 1996 to 1999. K\u0119stutis Navakas hosted a show Kult\u016bros<\/em> namai<\/em> on Lithuanian television during 2002\u20132004. He is currently working with the newspaper Kauno diena<\/em>.<\/p> K\u0119stutis Navakas has authored ten poetry books, five essay collections, several children\u2019s literature works, and two novels. He is a laureate of the Yotvingian Award, the Poetry Spring Award, and the National Culture and Art Award. His most recent poetry book, net<\/em> ne<\/em> (not even), was published in 2018. Navakas is the author of numerous translations from German and other languages, and has also translated several plays and librettos.
