Arnas Ališauskas (Lithuania)

Arnas Ališauskas was born in 1970 in Širvintos. He studied Lithuanian philology at Vilnius University. Ališauskas worked as a literary critic and journalist at the cultural weekly Literatūra ir menas and the newspaper Lietuvos rytas, as an advisor to the President of the Republic of Lithuania, and as an editor at the Office of the President of the Republic of Lithuania and the Lithuanian Writers’ Union Publishing House. He is the author of two poetry books: Prisukama karalystė (Clockwork Kingdom, 1996) and Rentgeno nuotraukų albumas (An Album of X-Rays, 2007). Ališauskas has edited anthologies of the poets Sigitas Geda and Justinas Marcinkevičius and a number of books of interviews, including with Lithuanian President Valdas Adamkus. He is also the author of film and TV screenplays and librettos. Ališauskas is currently a freelance writer.
