Roman Honet was born in 1974 in Kraków. He edited the literary and arts journal Studium and the book series published alongside it. He taught creative writing at the Jagiellonian University. He is the author of eleven poetry books, which have been nominated for the Nike, Silesius, and Gdynia Literary Prizes. In 2015, he received the Wisława Szymborska Prize for the collection Świat był mój (The World Was Mine). His poems have been translated into many European languages, and his work has been published in Ukrainian, Latvian, Serbian, and Russian. He has compiled and edited several anthologies of contemporary Polish poetry.
