Simonas Bernotas (Lithuania)
Simonas Bernotas was born in 1993 in Kaunas. He graduated from Vilnius University with a bachelor’s degree in Lithuanian philology and Spanish language, and a master’s degree in intermedial literary studies. He currently lives in Vilnius. For his poetry collection Reivas (Rave), published in 2019, he was awarded the Debut of the Year Award by the Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Lithuania. In 2022, he was selected among the winners of the literature section of the interdisciplinary biennial MArteLive in Rome. His second book, Pasakų parkas (Fairy Tale Park) published in 2023, was included in the Lithuanian Institute of Literature and Folklore’s top twelve most creative books, was a finalist in the Poetry Book of the Year award, and won the Young Yotvingian Prize. His poems have been translated into German, French, Polish, English, Estonian, and Latvian. He translates Spanish language poetry and works for the Baziliskas publishing house.
