Jurgita Jasponytė (Lithuania)
Jurgita Jasponytė was born in 1981 in Zarasai. She graduated from the Vilnius Pedagogical University with a bachelor’s degree in Lithuanian philology and a master’s degree in literature. Jasponytė currently works at a library in Vilnius. She has participated in literary events and festivals in Lithuania, Latvia, Ukraine, Belarus, Germany, Austria, Italy, and Belgium. Her poetry has been translated into Latvian, English, Ukrainian, Belarusian, German, and Italian. Jasponytė is the author of three poetry books: Šaltupė (Cold River, 2014, recipient of the Zigmas Gėlė Prize), Vartai Auštrieji (The Sharp Gates, 2019, recipient of the Vladas Šlaitas Prize), and Visata atsisėda netinkamoje vietoje (The Universe Settles in the Wrong Place, 2024).
