Metin Celâl (Turkey)

Metin Celâl was born in 1961 in Ankara. He studied petroleum engineering at the Middle East Technical University and journalism at the School of Press and Publishing of Istanbul University. He served as editor-in-chief and/or director for several literary journals and publishing houses. He founded the contemporary Turkish literature portal turksir.com. He is the coordinator of the Istanbul International Poetry Festival. He is the author of four poetry collections: Adım Ölüm (My Name Is Death, 1986), Kendi Kendini Tatmin (Pleasing Oneself, 1989), Konformist (Conformist, 1993), and Küçük Hayat Bağları (Tiny Links to Life, 1999). His poetry has been translated into eleven languages, and books of his work have been published in English, German, and French.
