Mirjam Parve (Estonia)


Mirjam Parve was born in 1991 in Tartu, and raised in Tallinn. She completed her BA in Semiotics and her MA in Translation Studies at the University of Tartu, where she researched the poetry of Betti Alver. She is the translation editor of the magazine Värske Rõõk. In 2021, she won the Juhan Liiv Poetry Prize and the Siuru scholarship. Her collection of poems Varjukeha (Shadow Body, 2023) was awarded the Betti Alver Prize for Best Debut and was nominated for the Culture Foundation Prize. She translates literature from English and French.
