Raimonds Ķirķis (Latvia)
Raimonds Ķirķis was born in 1997 in Riga. He studies cultural theory and management at the Latvian Academy of Culture. He works at the Rainis and Aspazija Museum. He edited the literary magazine Žoklis, and is a member of the Preili Conceptual Poetry Group. His first poetry collection Kartes (Maps, 2019) won the Poetry Days Festival Award. He writes poetry book reviews for the cultural press, and in 2019 he won the Normunds Naumanis Annual Young Critic’s Award. He has hosted a literature show on the NABA radio station, and has translated works by W. H. Auden, T. S. Eliot, Sohrab Sepehri, and Ilya Kaminski’s poetry collection, Deaf Republic (2023, Poetry Days Festival Award).
