Sveta Grigorjeva (Estonia)

Sveta Grigorjeva was born in 1988 in Tallinn. She completed her master’s degree in choreography at Tallinn University and the Justus Liebig University Giessen, and studied at the University of Nice Sophia Antipolis. She is currently a doctoral student and junior researcher at the Estonian Academy of Music and Theater, where she researches the political dimension of contemporary dance. In 2023, she received the award for Best Dance Performance at the Estonian Theater Awards for Dances to Dream, Res(is)t and Sleep. She is the author of three poetry collections: kes kardab sveta grigorjevat? (who’s afraid of sveta grigorjeva?, 2013, recognized as the best poetry debut of the decade), American Beauty (2018), and Frankenstein (2023, winner of the Jaan Kross Literary Prize). She has received the Ene Mihkelson Prize for cultural criticism. Her collection of feminist cultural criticism and essays, Kliitor on anarhist (The Clitoris Is an Anarchist, 2024), received an award from the Estonian Cultural Endowment.Dances to Dream, Res(is)t and Sleep).Trijų poezijos rinkinių autorė: keskardab sveta grigorjevat?
